Can using CBD daily help you achieve your long-term wellness goals? In this post, we’ll talk about how CBD works, the benefits of daily dosing, and how you can find a high-quality product that works best for you.

How CBD Works

To first appreciate why daily CBD use can help you achieve long-term wellness, we have to first understand how our body uses it. The endocannabinoid system, or ECS for short, is a network of receptors, signal chemicals, and enzymes that our body produces naturally.

Sometimes called the body’s “master regulator,” our endocannabinoid system maintains essential bodily functions like our mood, appetite, stress response, sleep, immune system, and more.

How the ECS Works

The endocannabinoid system is made up of three parts: receptors, signal chemicals, and enzymes.

All day, your body creates these signal chemicals, called endocannabinoids, that travel to different parts of your body and deliver vital messages to your receptors. These messages can range from: “Ow— something hurts— let’s dull the pain” to “Time to relax and transition into sleep.” When the endocannabinoid delivers its message, an enzyme cleans it up.

When this system is out of whack, you know it. Sleep becomes more difficult, our moods are affected, and our digestive system may stop working properly. That’s where CBD comes along. As an external cannabinoid, CBD helps our endocannabinoids get where they need to go and deliver their messages fully. Constantly keeping your ECS well-stocked with CBD can help maintain bodily functions and well-being.

Consistency is Key

While CBD can work on a dose-by-dose basis, you can unlock the real benefits of CBD when you use it daily. By allowing your body to build up its CBD reserves, you can build up your ECS’s resilience and ensure your long-term wellness.

The Benefits of Taking CBD Daily

Reduced Stress

Stress is one of life’s inescapable realities. It can wear on a person both emotionally and physically. One of CBD’s reported benefits is stress reduction. In several double-blind studies, CBD has been found to significantly reduce our human stress response and its manifested conditions (anxiety, depression, burnout, etc.)

We believe CBD helps manage stress by controlling the level of cortisol our body produces to respond to stressful situations.

Healthier Skin

Our skin health is often linked to our internal well-being. For many of us, stress and tension often manifests itself as acne and inflammation of the skin.

By reducing stress and improving our internal well-being, you may be able to clear up all that aggravation on the outside.

Better Sleep Patterns

Sleep is important for every facet of health, and almost all of us struggle to get quality, consistent at some point in life. Whether the interruption is caused by stress or a diagnosable sleep disorder, CBD may be able to help.

By interacting with endocannabinoids that help us relax and get ready for bed, CBD can help users get to sleep and stay asleep through the night.

Weight Management

Weight and appetite management has been shown repeatedly to be linked to sleep. The more sleep you get, the more impulse control you’ll have and the less likely you are to turn to sugary snacks to keep you fueled through the day.

By getting better sleep and reducing stress, a daily CBD supplement can help you stick to your weight and wellness goals.

Pain Management

Chronic and acute pain can significantly impact a person’s quality of life. Medications used to manage pain can significantly impact quality of life, too. Luckily, some studies have shown that CBD can provide some relief for physical discomfort.

If you’re looking for a natural way to better manage your pain, consistent CBD may be able to help.

Note: If you are currently managing your pains with prescriptions, be sure to talk to your doctor or pharmacist before adding CBD to your pain management routine.

Joint Health and Mobility

As we age, our joint health and mobility becomes more important. Some studies show that daily CBD use (either orally taken or applied topically) can alleviate joint discomfort.

While CBD isn’t a cure for joint pain and won’t cure or treat the underlying condition(s), it may be able to help you with your mobility and daily joint pain levels.

Finding a Product That Works For You

If you want to use daily CBD supplements to achieve your long-term health goals, it’s important to find a product that not only works well for you but also fits into your life seamlessly. Below, we have some tips on high-quality products that work for you.

Trying New Products and Different Brands

At the outset of your CBD wellness journey, you may find yourself jumping from product to product or even from brand to brand. That’s totally normal. You may also fall in love with the first product you try— that’s great, too!

Regardless of which category you fall into, you’ll want to ensure that you’re buying your products from reputable vendors who are transparent about their processes and their CBD.

Look for companies that publish their testing paperwork. Each and every product you consider should have an accompanying certificate of analysis. This document will tell you about the quality, purity, and strength of the product you’re considering.

Finding Your Dose

The optimal CBD dosage will vary from person to person. Like some other natural supplements, the right amount of CBD for you will depend on your body type, diet, metabolism, water content, and the effects you want to feel.

The only tried and true method to find your dose is through trial and error. At Sunset Lake CBD, we recommend starting with 25mg of CBD per dose per day.

What does that mean?

Depending on your intention, we recommend consuming a minimum dose of 25mg of CBD daily, at the same time every day.

For example, if you’re using CBD to help with sleep, Take your 25mg dose an hour before bed every day.

However, if you’re using CBD to help manage your pain, you may want to take 25mg of CBD four times per day, at the same times every day.

Either way, we recommend sticking with this dose and dosage schedule for at least two weeks until you’re acclimated. Once you know how your body responds to this dose, feel free to adjust your dose up or down (slowly) until you find the dose that’s right for you.

Monitor Your Progress

We recommend keeping a journal to track your progress. This might be a little inconvenient at first, but trust us, it will help you stay on top of your wellness in the long run.

Take note of your dose, dosage schedule, effects— both wanted and unwanted, and your overall well-being.

Your notes will help you figure out down the road whether or not a product is going to work for you. You may find that CBD gummies before bed don’t work for you and may decide to try an oil instead. Your journal will help take the guesswork out of that decision.

Using CBD Daily

Ultimately, the only way to experience the benefits of taking CBD daily is by taking the plunge and giving it a try. You may notice that it helps in ways that you didn’t even anticipate.

Whether it’s taking CBD oil in the morning with a cup of coffee, using gummies to help you get to bed, or soothing aching joints with a topical— find a method that works well for your routine and goals and give it a shot!
