Using your lotion
Sunset Lake’s CBD Recovery Body Lotion is intended for topical use only. Please do not apply to your eyes, any orifice, or open wounds.
You can use this lotion in the same way and at the same frequency as you would use a non-infused lotion.
After you apply the CBD Recovery Body Lotion to an affected area, you should start to feel the effects in just a few minutes. The onset time, unlike other CBD products, isn’t affected by many other factors.
If you have any questions about dosages, expected effects, or CBD topicals, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Our Recommendation
Depending on your situation, we recommend using this CBD lotion in a few different ways:
After a hot shower – For optimal absorption, apply this lotion immediately after taking a hot shower (or bath). Your skin and pores are most open after a hot shower, and this lotion will help your skin retain moisture.
Before bed – If you have a particularly problematic area, try applying this lotion before bed. Cover with clothing or a wrap, and see how you feel in the morning. This rub should help prevent some muscle tightness.
After working with your hands – If you’re working with your hands in the garden or doing chores around the house, show them some love with this lotion afterward. It will keep dryness and soreness at bay!
Safety Considerations:
Warning: This lotion is intended for topical use only. Please do not apply to your eyes, any orifice, or open wounds. Please do not ingest this product.

Frequently asked CBD Questions
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring chemical compound produced by mature hemp and cannabis plants. It is one of the 100+ cannabinoids that have, as of now, been identified in Cannabis Sativa plants. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the compound responsible for the psychoactive effects of marijuana, CBD is non-intoxicating. This means that consuming CBD does not result in the “high” typically associated with cannabis use.

CBD interacts with our body’s endocannabinoid system— a biological network composed of cannabinoid receptors and signalers— to help the body maintain overall health and homeostasis.
The endocannabinoid system plays a role in many bodily functions including,
- Sleep
- Mood
- Stress
- Metabolism and appetite
- Memory and our ability to retain new information
CBD is known as a phytocannabinoid, phyto- meaning ‘of the plant’ and mimics our body’s endocannabinoids, endo- meaning internal, that our bodies naturally produce. Some believe that consuming phytocannabinoids like CBD can help a user’s endocannabinoid system run more efficiently.
CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol (Canna-Bi-Diol.) Emphasis ours.
CBD by itself does not show up on a standard workplace drug test. That’s not to say that CBD products won’t show up on a drug test. For more on this subject, check out our blog post on the subject.
CBD is well tolerated by most, but using CBD can cause some unwanted side effects. Some of the most common include:
- Change in appetite
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Upset Stomach
CBD isn’t shown to have any dependence issues, meaning that you will not get addicted to CBD if you begin to use it. The World Health Organization has stated that “…in humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…”
CBD is non-psychoactive and will not make users feel intoxicated. In other words, CBD will not get you “high.”
