Candy Kush CBD Flower

One ounce jar of Candy Kush hemp flower from Sunset Lake CBD

Candy Kush is a brand new cultivar that we’ve added to our smokable hemp lineup this year. At 15.9% total CBD, this indica-dominant hybrid flower is great for putting your feet up at the end of a long day.

It should also be no surprise that this tasty Kush is laden with terpenes. At 2.4% of total weight, Candy Kush’s terpene profile is well-rounded and looks analogous to a lot of our Sour Strains.

Candy Kush Genetics

ST (Sour Tsunami) x Gorilla Glue #4 (CBD Conversion)

Candy Kush CBD is a strain from Oregon CBD Seeds. Like many other CBD flower strains, Candy Kush can trace its roots back to high-yielding marijuana cultivars. Over time, the team over in Oregon has bred the THC out of this strain and crossbred plants with higher CBD content. This technique created bigger, high-CBD buds that look, smell, and smoke like traditional THC cannabis.

2022 -2023 Growing Season Information

We germinated all Oregon CBD Seeds cultivars in mid-May in our main greenhouse in South Hero, Vermont. We used 2-inch trays filled with Happy Frog Potting Soil from Fox Farms. Once the Candy Kush CBD seedlings were big enough to transplant, we moved them to our rows covered with biodegradable plastic to keep soil-born fungi and weeds at bay.

We did not use pesticides or herbicides during germination, the growing, or the flowering phase. Instead, with guidance from the University of Vermont extension school, we used an integrated pest management system with Trichogramma parasitic wasps, assassin bugs, and ladybugs to control unwanted pests. Our main farm in Alburgh, Vermont supplied our fields with organic fertilizer.

Candy Kush CBD Dominant Terpenes

Candy Kush CBD Flower contains several terpenes at high concentrations. Its primary terpene is mycrene with beta-caryophyllene and terpinolene a close second and third respectively. Of the 2.4% total terpene content, myrcene accounts for roughly 20% of that. Some studies have observed that when users consume cannabinoids and myrcene together, the myrcene seems to have a sedating effect.

Beta-caryophyllene accounts for 0.412% of Candy Kush’s dry weight. It’s also one of the only terpenes that directly interacts with our endocannabinoid system, making it both a terpene and a cannabinoid. Beta-caryophyllene has been studied for its anti-inflammatory properties and can also be found in black pepper and cinnamon.

Terpinolene is named after turpentine and is quite complex to the nose; many find terpinolene to have piney, floral, herbaceous, and citrus notes. Above all, terpinolene is usually described as having a distinctly “fresh” aroma.

D-Limonene deserves a special spotlight in this section, too. As a strain that smells so much like lemon candy, we expect to see a certain amount of limonene present. While it’s part of Candy Kush’s overall profile, it only accounts for about 3% of the terpene profile. Limonene smells of citrus and can be found in many rinds and cosmetic products.

Sunset Lake CBD’s Candy Kush Reviews

“Candy is a great name for this product because it tastes like some kind of nerds or sweet tarts or cotton candy. Everyone loves the smell, the buds are soft and sticky. As far as effect, it’s a mild chill vibe I’d say, I don’t have to sit down like I do with Cherry Abacus but not quite as heady as Lifter. It’s a nice compromise and probably a good introduction to CBD for your friends that haven’t tried it before.”

“This is it folks. My favorite sunsetlake say bay day strain!! I’ve been smoking it daily for a few years now since I heard of sunset lake on The Majority Report. I mostly smoke lifter during the day, and cherry abacus at night. Perfect, chef’s kiss! However, I’m a big Indica fan and my favorite strains are kush, Hindu kush, bubba kush, OG kush, and Afghani kush. I also mix and match during the day and at night to add some CBD to my smoke sessions. Well….candy kush mixes so well and has a very smooth and earthy taste like its cousins. It chills your vibe, but doesn’t knock you out. The perfect happy medium for your evening sesh. This may be the best yet!!!

Smells nice, smokes nice and it taste nice. Actually replace nice with amazing and you are on to something. These guys are top notch.

I love this company’s CBD Bud. I’ve been a customer going on two years. Everything I get from them tastes and feels all natural. Kandy Kush smell is all new to me. It’s gets me where I like after a day at work. Smooth clean smoke with the buzz and relaxation for hours afterwards. For the money and the freshness and its organic it’s worth it. I love Sunset lake’s company’s CBD weed. It’s Good sh*t.

I really like the Candy Cush Smalls because it is great anytime through the day and at bedtime. Tastes great, smokes smooth and delivers. I think it even helps my Sciatic Nerve pain, my opinion only but it seems to have gotten better. Sunset Lakes really knows their CBD and I have not been disappointed with any of their products!
