One of the hardiest hemp strains bred by Oregon CBD, Lifter is one of our most potent cultivars in 2020. Lifter hemp flower is a cross between Suver Haze #50 and Early Resin Berry making it the cousin of our Hawaiian Haze strain. That’s where the similarities end.
All that time under the hot Vermont sun let Sunset Lake’s Lifter grow big, pungent flowers. Each bud is tremendous in its own right— many sport shades of purple and green and pink hairs.
Suver Haze #50 x Early Resin Berry
Like many CBD hemp strains, Lifter hemp flower can trace its roots back to high-yielding marijuana strains. Over time, geneticists bred the THC out and bred CBD in. This technique has created bigger, high-CBD buds that look and smell a lot like traditional cannabis.
Total CBD: 18.59% | 185.86 mg/g
Total THC: 0.72% | 7.158 mg/g
We grew our Lifter hemp flower outdoors with minimal cover cropping this year. We did not use any harmful pesticides at any point. Instead, with guidance from UVM, we used an integrated pest management system and employed the use of Trichogramma parasitic wasps and assassin bugs to control unwanted pest populations. To prevent fungal growth, we used a gentle apple cider vinegar solution spray. We take great care to ensure the health of the soil for years to come!
Lifter: Aroma and Taste
Lifter’s aroma is nothing to shake a stick at— some will say they smell sweet blueberry pie, while others will notice pungent cheese. When smoked, many Lifter users will taste it’s more subtle earthy notes.
Why pick Lifter?
Sunset Lake CBD’s 2020 Lifter hemp buds tested at 18.59% total CBD, making it the gram-for-gram one of our most potent flower cultivar this year.
Known in some parts as “Heavy Lifter,” this strain can do it all. Daytime break? Lifter. After work? Lifter. Taking a vacation that turns into a wacky series of misadventures with a romantic subplot? Lifter.
Lifter Buds or Smalls?
There isn’t much difference between our Lifter smalls and our jarred flower. Smalls are sorted, machine-trimmed buds. The Lifter hemp flower that we put into jars are hand-trimmed and often bigger buds.
The top three terpenes tested in our Lifter are:
𝛃-Myrcene – Also found in mango and hops, Myrcene has long been used in some cultures as a sedative and muscle relaxant. Myrcene is also responsible for beer’s peppery and balsam aroma.
𝛃-Caryophyllene – Commonly found in cloves, hops, and rosemary, beta-caryophyllene has the distinctive spiciness of black pepper.
ɑ-Humalene – Humulene is the terpene that gives hops (hemp’s close cousin) its distinct subtle woody, spice taste.

Love my Lifters!! This type in particular has helped with my anxiety immensely. Definitely get a nice warm, tingly feeling through my body with this one and I feel like my body actually relaxes. Not harsh on the pull and acts quickly. I’ll keep coming back for this one for sure!

I have now tried all the available flower strains from Sunset Lake, and I can say with certainty that Lifter is my favorite. They are all fantastic, but Lifter is a step above the rest in my opinion. The flavor profile is on point and doesn’t feel heavy at all. Some of the other strains would be better for night time, but Lifter is by far the best daytime strain option. Perfect for enjoying a nice walk, hike, day on the beach or any other outdoor activity. I have tried the smalls and large buds, and both are top notch quality.
